The teacher had a book shelf we could select things from and I read this comic every time. It was the comic adaptation of of Disney's "The Black Cauldron." Later that year I got the paperback novel from the Scholastic Book orders. (And I never saw the actual animation until I was in university.) I couldn't finish it. It scared me too much. And it was nothing like the comic. The Horned King had already been defeated in "The Book of Three," which I didn't even know was a thing at the time.
